Time to get back to real politics
Well, as I indicated last week, I think the Opposition has completely run out of steam on the so-called 'Bertiegate' issue. Yesterday's opinion poll in the Irish Times would seem to bear that out. At a time when working families across the country expect their politicians to be working constructively to improve our infrastructure, develop our communities and build our economy, Enda, Pat and Trevor seemed only interested in grabbing power, for power's sake by launching personal attacks on a popular Taoiseach. Thankfully, the people have seen through it.
Locally, I was asked on to a debate on LMFM's Loosetalk show against FG heavy-hitter on the issue, Fergus O'Dowd and SF Deputy Arthur Morgan. Neither offered anything except the same tired soundbytes - hopefully we can all get back to debating the issues affecting the working families of Meath East very soon.
