Canvassing Carlanstown

Canvassing Carlanstown

We had a great evening in Carlanstown tonight. Anne Casey from the Meath Chronicle accompanied us. I suppose I had better let her tell the story in next week's paper. But it was a fantastic, sunny, north Meath evening and we got a great response. That is thanks very much to our excellent FF cumann in Carlanstown which does great work in the village.

I have also just been looking through some internet commentary on what is going on at a national level. I have to look at the internet because on the doors in rural Ireland, I wouldn't be able to find out what the fuss was all about! Nobody mentions it. they talk about the issues that are important to them and to their families. 'Nuff said.

But too much said the other night on autism. The Irish Indo rang me today. I can't row back on what I said, but I have apologized to the Minister for the tone of it. However, I met another family affected by autism and supporters of ours and it convinces me we need change. I am not a rebel for the sake of things and never will be. Nor will I be a rebel on this issue. I want to urge for positive change in our approach, if elected.
