RAIL SERVICE DISRUPTION

On behalf of the travelling public on the coast, I have been in contact with Iarnród Éireann concerning the disruption to rail services this morning. Iarnrod Eireann have told me that Northern line services will be severely disrupted today due to the derailment of a freight train south of Skerries last night.

They tell me that all services for this morning's peak are cancelled between Dundalk/Drogheda and Dublin. Iarnród Éireann advises customers to make alternative arrangements.

Iarnród Éireann crews are working to clear the line as soon as possible in order to have one track open, to provide a limited service later today.

I will update the travelling public as soon as more information becomes available.
