NEW FLEXIBUS SERVICE FROM BELLEWSTOWN

I welcome the news that Flexibus have just begun a new Shopping service bus route from Bellewstown to Drogheda, from Friday, May 16. The bus will also serve Grennanstown, Ardcath, Clonalvey and Stamullen.

Flexibus-Meath Accessible Transport Project, is the Community Transport group operating in the Meath area. The company is funded under the National Development Plan through the Rural Transport Program. A feature of the Rural Transport Program is that free travel pass holders may use their passes on all services. This will be the case with the Flexibus service from Bellewstown to Drogheda.

Flexibus have told me that they are committed to meeting the needs of communities in Meath that do not have access to any other type of rural transport. This will be of great benefit to many people in the area.

I have already worked closely with Flexibus on the setting up of the commuter service to and from Gormanston and Balbriggan train stations. I will continue to work to meet the transport needs of communities in Meath East.
